In this course, students will further develop their research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. They will research the history of SDHS and Balboa Stadium as well as the environment with an emphasis on the local impact and environmental justice. In addition, they will examine the use of coal during the Industrial Revolution to today's use and its affect on climate change. The students will take away the importance of becoming activists and leaders as they probe the origins of environmental issues in order to generate equitable and sustainable solutions for their communities. Furthermore, they will have opportunities to hone their essential skills to be successful by reflecting on their learning experience, collaborating, and refining their project presentation through mock pitches.
