Practicum
San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) provides opportunities that support practicum students in School Psychology. SDUSD requires that a minimum of 450 practicum hours be completed to be eligible for a school psychologist internship position in accordance with standards specified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (www.ctc.ca.gov). As a first step towards being considered for a practicum experience in SDUSD, practicum (pre-internship level) students should review the practicum guide for district expectations, complete a practicum application, and submit the following materials to schoolpsychprep@sandi.net:
Unofficial transcripts of graduate coursework to date
University's requirements and sequence of study for school psychology
If a practicum position is offered, the graduate student will also be asked to provide the following:
Copy of Certificate of Clearance
Current TB test (<60 days) OR completed TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire
Evidence of Professional Liability Insurance
Livescan finger printing for SDUSD
Students shall secure Professional Liability Insurance at their own expense and carry such insurance in full force during the term of their respective placements for no less than $2 Million per occurrence and $4 Million annual aggregate.
