Internship
Internship
Accepting internship applications for the 2025-2026 school from February 24th - March 10th.
The School Psychologist Internship Program allows graduate students to integrate knowledge and applied skills across curricular areas. These areas include prevention, intervention, counseling, consultation, assessment, and program evaluation. The internship is based on the guidelines set forth by the National Association for School Psychologists (NASP), the California Association of School Psychologists, and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Graduate students interested in an internship for the 25-26 school year should complete an internship application and submit the following application materials to schoolpsychprep@sandi.net by March 10, 2025. Applicants must be completing a minimum of a three-year, full-time school psychology program. The SDUSD School Psychology internship is paid at a current rate of $25 per hour.

Currently, SDUSD does not accept out-of-state interns.
Students undergoing school psychology training in other states occasionally express interest in completing their internship year in California. California offers an intern credential exclusively granted under a university's auspices with a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) approved school psychology internship credential program.
For an out-of-state student to pursue an internship in California, they must navigate a three-step process. Firstly, they need to identify a university willing to recognize their previous program as equivalent to its own. Secondly, the university must grant an internship credential. Lastly, the student has to be enrolled in the university's program for proper supervision. We are currently unaware of programs willing to undertake this process.
