11th Grade

Students will learn about environmental justice through investigating the environmental impact of the music industry and urban heat islands. Throughout the project, students will research and make connections to music and their own cultural roots and the impacts on them because of globalization. 

The project will culminate in students building sustainable guitars from reclaimed wood, creating presentations that inform the public about the issues and possible solutions related to urban heat islands and environmental justice, and designing and creating landscape architectural blueprints for green spaces in their community.
