Tiny Home Project: 

12th Graders Present to the SDUSD Board of Education

On Tuesday, September 15, Hoover High School students were invited to present their work to the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education, showcasing the hands-on learning and teamwork behind the SABE Tiny Home Build Project. Students shared the process of bringing their tiny home project from an idea on paper to a physical structure. They walked the Board through each stage of the build, beginning with creating blueprints and measurements, developing a scaled model and cut list, and planning for the materials needed to bring their designs to life. Throughout the presentation, students highlighted the collaboration, precision, problem-solving, and construction skills they developed along the way. Their presentation gave district leaders a firsthand look at how SABE students apply classroom learning to an authentic, hands-on project that connects directly to careers in construction and the building trades. We are proud of our students for stepping into the spotlight, sharing their work, and representing Hoover High School and SABE with confidence. Their voices and their work demonstrate what is possible when students are given the opportunity to design, build, learn, and lead.
