Passion Projects is a chance for students to showcase their love for a topic. This year we encouraged students to push their thinking and connect their passion to one of our four concepts here at Mountain View. At first, this idea was challenging for them. They felt as though their right to a passion project was infringed upon. Then as we conferenced one by one, they realized that their passion was more than what they liked. It was something that could challenge them and push them to be changemakers, contributing community members, empathetic humans, and lifelong learners.
Full of hope, they charged ahead in creating their projects. Here are the amazing results.
I made this project so other people can see how to play the game.

In April, we had the opportunity to indulge in a short poetry unit. We challenged ourselves to write and the results were unlike anything I would have guessed. Check out our poems, each as unique as every one of our students.
