September 1st - School Site Council meeting (8am - virtual) 

• The School Site Council (SSC) is an elected decision-making group comprised of parents, community members, site administrators, teachers, other staff and students. The SSC has an ongoing responsibility to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the site plan for Mission Bay High. The SSC also oversees all the categorical funds such as Title I, Second Language and GATE. All schools are required to have an SSC. Contact your site administrator or SSC chair if you are interested in joining. 

• SSC meets virtually on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 8am (except May)

Miami Nights Homecoming Court Nominations due this Wednesday!!!

• Nominate up to 6 members of your grade to represent your class as Homecoming Court. 

• The nomination form is LIVE NOW Miami Nights Homecoming Court Nomination Form is due on Wednesday, Sept  2. Spelling Counts and be sure to follow ballot instructions so your votes are counted. 

Buc Leadership Team -Governance meeting (8am - virtual) 

• The purpose of the Site Governance Team (SGT) is to ensure that students, teachers, parents, and administration work together to make recommendations on important issues involving the student body.  The governance team at Mission Bay High is called the Buc Leadership Team.  

• BLT meets virtually on the 1st Thursday of the month at 8am (except May)  

• Students are invited to participate, please see Ms. Borg if you'd like more info.

Attention Clubs - before you are eligible to meet or fundraise, you must complete the Club Application Form AND attend a mandatory Club Officer/Advisor Meeting.  Clubs Meetings held every Thursday at lunch in the ASB room (332) thru Sept. Please see Commissioner of Clubs and Communications, Devon Arns, with any questions.  

Next Monday, school is closed in observance of Labor Day. 

Labor Day is a federal holiday honoring the contributions of American workers and the labor movement. 

Labor day also marks the unofficial end of Summer. Enjoy your 3 day weekend!

Homecoming Spirit Week Sept 8-11

Join us in celebrating our Miami Nights Homecoming 2026 with a spirit week leading up to Hoco events!

Tues 9/8- Get Buc wild and dress in head to toe animal print 

Wed 9/9- we all know how wacky Florida can be so dress up for Wacky Wednesday (mismatched prints, crazy hair, crazy socks...)

Thurs 9/10- Miami Beach Day (wear your SCHOOL APPROPRIATE tropical/beach attire)

Fri 9/11- Bright/Neon Pep Rally Class Color Day 

    Freshmen: neon green

    Sophomores: neon yellow

    Juniors: electric blue 

    Seniors: hot pink

Club Rush: September 18th 

Attention Club Officers and Advisors! 

Club Rush will be on Fri, Sept 18 on the PE BLACKTOP (new location to accommodation all our clubs)

Once your club paperwork is submitted and you have attended the mandatory club meeting at lunch on Thursdays, come to the ASB room to sign up for Club Rush. Tables and fundraising assignments will be approved on a first-come first served basis.

Reporting an absence?

Email: missionbayattendance@sandi.net or Phone: (858)536-0136, Press Option 2

Include: student name, your name and relationship to student, date(s) of the absence, reason for the absence and your phone number. Attendance records can only be cleared within 5 school days.

Picking up your student Early? 

Please make every effort to call or email at least one hour before expected dismissal time! If you know in advance, you can send a note in with your student to get dismissed early. Students leaving early must have school authorization by way of a "Blue Slip" to exit campus. Failure to get a Blue Slip before leaving campus will result in a truancy. Parents/guardians may not call to clear a truancy after the student has left campus.
