DHH Services:
We offer a range of placement and service options, while considering the Least Restrictive Environment for each student.
DHH Itinerant services are provided to students at their neighborhood schools along with additional services as determined by site IEP teams.
We have three DHH Comprehensive Sites: Lafayette Elementary School, Innovation Middle School, and Madison High School. Each site includes access to comprehensive DHH services, which includes separate DHH classrooms taught by a teacher of the deaf and related services such as speech, counseling, and audiology. Placement at our comprehensive sites is determined by IEP teams.
Referrals:
If your student has a known hearing loss, please request that your school site fill out this form (link) to connect with the DHH department.
If the student qualifies for DHH services, a DHH teacher and staff audiologist will be involved to develop an IEP.
If you reside outside of our district boundaries and are interested in our DHH program, please contact your district of residence. All transfers to SDUSD programs are initiated by the IEP team at the district of residence.
