Do you have an IEP or 504 Plan?
While SDCCD doesn't recognize SDUSD IEPs/504 Plans, they have their own Special Ed department: the Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) where they will create a plan for you to better find success in your college class.
Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) offers a variety of services for students with verified disabilities. Examples include students with learning disabilities, impairments in vision, hearing, and mobility, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, and other medical disabilities.
The DSPS Office can assist students with the following:
Identify individual accommodations
Recommend appropriate disability management strategies
Assist with understanding legal rights and responsibilities
What is the DSPS process for getting Special Ed Services?
When you take a CCAP course, Ms Hall will work with the DSPS office to schedule intake interviews with students. After the intake meeting with a DSPS counselor, the DSPS office will send students their accommation letter for them to share with their professors. Each semester (or new course) student will request an updated letter from the DSPS through the student portal.
