In 9th grade: The focus of our project is to raise community awareness about the issues surrounding food sustainability while analyzing and innovating effective solutions.
In 10th grade: The goal of this project is to work with Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Birch Aquarium to help the scientists in their goal of translating complex science to the public while incorporating design and display techniques as seen in the aquarium exhibits. This year we are focusing on raising awareness and empathy around the topic of Marine Protected Areas.
In 11th grade: Students will be creating a Literary Science Symposium targeting the Linda Vista Community in which we will showcase interdisciplinary pieces that incorporate science, art (poetry, multimedia) and history products under one roof.
In 12th grade: Students begin an internship for an internship supervisor. The internship supervisors are comprised of business professionals who work for organizations in the community. The products the interns complete will vary and are based on the needs of the supervisor and his/her organization.
