How can we use nature and technology to design solutions to improve the environment and restore biodiversity?
Students work in teams to build an ROV that researches and/or solves a specific environment issue.
Students use this opportunity to experiment with their ROV design. The testing phase gives them a chance to practice maneuvering their ROV and using their payload device. They can then use this experience to prepare and improve their design for the final testing phase.
During the trials phase, staff evaluate each team's ROV functionality and performance. Teams must demonstrate their ability to function cohesively as a team, prove their vehicle can clearly maneuver through the body of water, and carry out their payload's specific task.
ROV teams gather together to present their ROV, website, and overall reflections regarding the project based learning experience. Staff, students, family, and friends are all invited to this event to celebrate the completion of the project. This presentation and environment serves as preparation for their Senior Gala.
