Resources for students without a medical home, through County of San Diego Health and Human Services (HHSA) for updating vaccinations and to meet California school requirements
California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade. Unconditional admission is a student whose parent or guardian has provided records of receipt of immunization, a permanent medical exception which meets the requirements outlined in 17 CCR section 6051 or a personal beliefs exception dated in 2020 which meets the requirements outlined in Health and Safety Code section 120335. Conditional admission is a student who lacks immunization documentation. They may be admitted if they have begun receiving the missing vaccines and is not currently due for any doses at the time of admission, has a temporary medical exemption (17 CCR section 6050). Parents have 30 days after date of admission to update the immunization record.

Include the immunization record as part of the paperwork sent to the school's admission clerk when registering your student for the first time. If you do not have a current copy of your child's immunization record contact your pediatricians office.
