HELP WITH FUNDING

The Government introduced a bursary in 2011 which is designed to support students who may face difficulties in continuing in further education, such as those in receipt of income support and will help with the costs of transport, meals, books and equipment.

The bursary is able to reimburse costs up to £250 for the academic year (pro-rata for shorter courses). In order to qualify for this you must meet all of the following criteria:

As the maintenance bursary is intended to support you with the costs of attending and studying a course, awards will be directly related to your attendance rates. If your attendance falls below 90% you may be withdrawn.

If you are in full-time education, your parents may be eligible still for child benefits. This is up to £21.80 per week for some families. It is important that HM Revenue and Customs know that you are continuing otherwise it will automatically be stopped in the September following you leaving school.

Applications for the 2022/23 year are now closed. In the new academic year, if you would like to apply please complete the form below by the closing date, which is to be confirmed in the new academic year. Any forms received after this date may not be elidible.
