ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance in the Sixth Form is monitored closely by tutors and the admin team. Students are registered electronically every lesson and an attendance summary is produced for the tutors each week. Parents/carers can request a copy of their son/daughter's attendance at any time from either their tutor or Mrs Hoekstra.Â
All students are expected to:
attend all timetabled lessons, which include citizenship, enrichment and supervised study periods
arrange all appointments outside of school hours where possible, this includes the doctors, dentist and driving lessons
maintain an attendance of at least 90%. Students whose attendance falls below this may be asked to leave the Sixth Form. Parents will be informed if a student's attendance falls below the 90%
arrive to lessons on time, anyone arriving more than 10 minutes late to a class may be asked to leave the lesson and marked as absent
sign in and out of the Sixth Form whenever they leave or arrive back on school grounds. The sign-out books are located at the entrance of the Sixth Form building. This is essential for maintaining accurate records and Health & Safety
inform the school of any absences, this includes illness. Parents/carers can ring or email on behalf of their son/daughter
let teachers know if they are going to miss a lesson in advance and ensure that they copy up all relevant work they miss, including homework.
Holidays will not be authorised in term time and will be recorded as unauthorised absences. Absences prior to or during exam periods would be avoided. We will only authorise absence in exceptional circumstances. An absence form should be completed and handed into the tutor prior to an absence or two days or more.
