PRAYERS - KARAKIA

We are learning traditional and devotional prayers that relate to the Catholic Church. Students are able to show reverence, resilience and respect during our prayers and especially during the Rosary. Encountering God, Mary and Jesus through meditation.

Enduring Understanding -Our faith shapes our Te Wa and empowers us as kaitiaki to respect and protect God’s creation as a taonga for all.

Turangawaewae T2

Is one of the most well-known and powerful Maori concepts. Literally turanga (standing place), waewae (feet), it is often translated as 'a place to stand'. Turangawaewae are places where we feel especially empowered and connected. They are our foundation, our place in the world, our home.

Term 2 we are focusing on MEASUREMENT which includes Length, Perimeter and Area. PROPORTIONS & RATIOS which includes Fractions of a set and of a region and GEOMETRY which includes Shape & Transformation.

Inspirational Maths

Term 3 we start with Inspirational Maths and the focusing on ADDITIVE thinking. Mixed Problems (Problem Solving Approach). Students will unpack and understand a Problem in Mathematics. To reinforce group norms and group roles. To use know facts to work our mixed problems.

Nga Hakari - Food Celebrations

Term 2 - Students are learning a variety of maori words and sentence structures for food. We are preparing to celebrate "Matariki" by singing waiata, myths and legends, prayers and making authentic kites.

GR Te Reo Maori - Nga Tau

Nga Tau - Numbers in Maori

Term 3 we are focusing on NGA TAU - Numbers in Maori. Students are learning a variety of maori words and sentence structures. We have included authentic waiata learning and prayers.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Cross Country T2

Term 2 - Week 10 Our School Cross Country was held at the SMCC Field. The students enjoyed running and giving their all and never giving up attitude. Supported by Parents, Teachers and Staff. Great Day!

Swimming Lessons T3

Term 3 - Week 2 Our swimming lessons started at the Otara Pools. The students are excited and enjoying their swimming lessons with the instructors. Students are put into 3 groups depending on their skills.
