Mrs. Gonnerman
BIBLE: Memory Verse for this week is Psalm 24: 1-2, 7-10 We will be working on this verse until the end of the year!
We will say this memory verse on THURSDAY, May 23!
Keep hiding God's Word in your heart!
READING:
If you are looking for things to help your child in their reading.
Have them read to you, but also read with them.
Talk about what they have read so that they have an understanding of what they are reading. If not, then the book is too hard. Read to entertain your audience.
Rhyming words
Pop Words....practice 1x each night. Please do not do all 4 timings in 1 or 2 nights.
MATH: Along with us working on addition and subtraction in school, you could work on this at home too.
Telling Time~ please help them learn on an analog clock and not just use a digital clock!
We will be starting a math unit on Measurement (direct and indirect measurements)
**Count with your child by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's, 100's - this is harder for some students so randomly count with your child.
**Have your child count money (coins, bills ($1, $5)
-have your child find the number in the Psalter Hymnal in church, identify numbers while traveling, ask what is 10 more than 33? 47? or what is 10 less than 56? 82?
-identifying numbers can be a struggle for some, so please keep asking your child to find numbers in books....do not do it for them!
**keep working on adding with your child at home so that it becomes natural for them to know the facts. (flashcards, apps on your phone/iPad)
Can they identify their numbers?
Work on Telling Time (not digitally),
Also, work on directions (left/right) (north, south, east, west)
