-This week assignment was about designing a model of a simple mobile holder that can rest on a flat surface like table using fusion 360 .
-I used it because it is the most efficient way to hold a mobile phone.
- I used google to search about some ideas, i just write 'mobile holder laser cutting' in google search and i found a lot of ideas that inspired me.

i edited the design cause i wanted to assemble the parts of my model together using screws and nuts.

-I used fusion 360 to sketch my design, Extrude all sketches into 2.5D parts, and export all parts in *.DXF format.
-I will use the laser cutter to fabricate my design.
-I used wood with 3mm thickness in my model .

at first, i took the measures of my mobile to know the length, width, and height.then, i drew the parts of the model to specify the dimensions and angles of it .
i made the prototype of the design using cardboard to check if it was stable or not.
in anew sketch, i started sketching the base of the design in x-y plane creating this small rectangle for the interlock and the hole for the screw and nut.

creating mirror of the the selected items of the lower part of the base around the center line which is parallel to x-axis.
make sure that all the lines of the base are fully-defined.
final result of the base (140x90)mm with four rectangle (20x3)mm and two holes 3.2mm in diameter

the three parts of the design after copying the side part and extruding all of them in 2.5D (3mm)
when we extrude we must set the operation to new component
apply joints
exporting DXF files for the laser cutting and save our design.

-First thing i started to import the dxf file to the laser works software , then i started to select the parts that will be cut.
-I started to edit the settings of the file : output, speed 30 and power65 of the laser cutting .
-I dragged the file at the corner of the work area at the origin , to make use of the rest of the sheet and save more of the material.
-last thing is to save the file as .rld
open the laser cutter
insert the file onto the machine computer(Download from laser works software ) and adjust it then press on start button.
-then i had 3 parts i connect them together.

at first, i had a problem with making the hole of the design fully defined and my friend advised me to click on fix then click on the center of the hole.i couldn't made my chair design fully defined and my instructor helped me and gave us some tricks.

i get stuck when i started sketching my design on fusion 360 without drawing it with dimensions as my design had many flaws and i discover it when i started the joints step
so i advice everyone to draw your design first and make sure all of your dimensions are right and can be used to make a stable design.

i learnt how to make a 2-2.5D design from A to Z on fusion 360 and this will help me in design my final project

the coolest thing that i succeed in my first design i made my rocking chair and i wish i could have a rocking chair like it.
