This week we should design a pen & pencil holder on fusion 360 using (laser cutter),and apply different connections like t-slot
The inspiration :I really want pen holder because I have alooooooot of pens & colors & pencils
This design is suitable

Software
Fusion 360: For designing the holder sides
Laser cad :To edit the DXF file ( speed & power & cut and ingrave)
Machine
Laser cutter : To cut the holder parts
Material
wood sheet 30*50 cm, Depth 3mm
base sketch using projections
T-slot dimensions
Fusion 360
1-Start with brainstorming and detecting the dimensions required for the design
2-Draw the sides of the holder ,in my design I drew side A & side c & back side
3- Use T-slots connections & cross connections
4- Copy the similar sides
5-Joint the sides together
6-Create a sketch on the bottom plan to make the base
7-project the connection components
8-Joit the holder , and choose a material for it
9-save the parts as DXF for laser cutter
10-The dimensions 20*20*12 cm
Laser cad
* import the file in laser cad
* Edit dimensions & line colors & speed & power
*The parameters are : -speed (25) -cut
-power(65)-cut
*I added an Islamic pattern to two sides
* The pattern used is from 3.axis site

Sheet 2 fabrication
Laser cad
* Edit dimensions & line colors & speed & power
*The parameters are : -speed (25) -cut
-power(65)-cut
-I export two files
(first for 4 pieces without pattern , the total dimension 27*46 cm)
(second for 2 pieces , they fabricated in half sheet)
Laser cutter machine
-put the sheet and make sure its flat on the surface
-set the orgin & Box & laser (to make sure about the shape area
-Start 🤩
Joining
-collect the sides together with the taps & X-slots
-put the screw & nuts for the T-slots using screw driver
*Start to use the holder in your favorite way , I put my pens & markers & color pallets & small sketches
T-slots
*This week we worked in teams in the offline session to make a lantern
we share information about new tools we learnt in fusion360
The problem:
-The dimensions of some connections are very hard to be calculated (to be accurate and joint with the other sides )
The reason :
-There are many T-slot & x-slot connections , and when I start a new component i have to calculate the dimensions again
The solution:
-I learned to use the projection, so I project the taps and detect the screw &nut place (for sketching the bottom I started sketch on the bottom of sides to project the taps)
base sketch using projections
* In the process of designing the prototype, l will use the software of Fusion 360 to design the suitable prototype for my project
* Knew about types of connections (T-slot & bracket & captive nut ), I will need these connections to make the prototype more stable& strong
* In prototype finishing I will need (laser cutter )

This week we had an offline session in the maker diploma fab lab
-The session is about reuse& recycle
-I love this mirror with pop colors ,and surprised that it is made from the waste of plastics
- The waste plastic melted and transform to sheets that we can use
-The coolest thing is the lantern in offline session with my team
-The card board mobile holder in the online session
