Nature INSPO
Decoration INSPO
project I like
I want to make A green & sustainable & decorative product which Can be used in our homes and spaces, and make the space more comfortable to our eyes and feelings
Plants and lightings are the top two thing that I love to put in my room. In addition, the plants lowers the air pollution and increases the oxygen percentage, it has psychological effects .
I thought to make A smart planter with light and some cool features
and design it with shape that attracts the costumers to buy and use it in their rooms & Kitchens, This will increases the number of overall plants in houses

Good Health and Well-being
– Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being ,as plants produce O2 gas
Clean Water and Sanitation
– Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
-The sensors will detect the humidity , so you will not over irrigate the plant ,this save the plant & water
Affordable and Clean Energy
– Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy
-you can plant the plants you use in your kitchen without need to take your car and buy hydrated plants from the shop.
Responsible Consumption and Production
– Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
-reduce electricity & water consumption
Climate Action
– Take action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Explain your impact assessment on those four pillars: social, economic, environmental, and natural resources. And, explain how this assessment will influence your project concept and goals.
Economic Impact
Q1
The cost of smart planters may limit accessibility for low-income groups. To address this, the project could include subsidized pricing or community-sharing models. Additionally, user-friendly design and recyclable materials
Q2
New product = new companies = new Job opportunities
Environmental Impact
Q1
The energy use of smart technology (e.g., sensors, automated watering systems) and potential e-waste are concerns. The project will prioritize energy-efficient components and design for recyclability or reuse of materials.
Q2
Reduces carbon footprint through local food production
improves air quality
Reduce water & electricity consumption
Social Impact
Q1
People needs plants in their homes for different reasons ,(decoration , plants used in kitchen )
the problem is usually the irrigation ,(over or low irrigation will make the plant die )
this project helps the user to plant in their homes by easier way
Q2
improves mental health and fosters community engagement.
Your plants are in your home without any Chemicals and pesticides
Natural Resources
Q1
The prototype will made from recycled plastic on 3D printer
Some materials are essential to use but they are non recycled like acrylic tube foe the water &some electronics
Q2
Encourages efficient water and soil use
reduces food waste..
Smart device (planter&lamp)
With sensors that sense Humidity and soil moisture
It shows smiley face with the light open ,and after 10 sec. the smiley face disappear and the LCD shows TIME
You Can put it in your kitchen and plant it, use the plants in cooking by cutting the grown plant from the opening part, the humidity sensor will helps in detect if the plants need irrigation or not
The light will be useful for the plants & humans

Describe how your project will leverage maker tools like laser cutters or 3D printers to reduce waste, and increase maintainability. Also, explain your choice of materials such as fabric, plastic filament, or recycled plastic sheets to support green innovation. Select materials with low environmental impact, and explain their relevance to your project.
Eco friendly material use
Reduce the waste material
Precision Manufacturing: 3D printers allow for precise material usage, minimizing offcuts and scrap. This reduces material waste compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
On-Demand Production: These tools enable local, on-demand production, reducing the need for large-scale manufacturing and associated waste from overproduction and transportation.
Modular Design: Using 3D printing, the project will be 3 parts . If one part breaks or wears out, only that specific part needs to be replaced, reducing overall waste.
The project will prioritize materials with low environmental impact to support green innovation.
Recycled Plastic:
Environmental Impact:
Using recycled plastic reduces carbon emissions and energy consumption compared to producing new plastic.
Biodegradable filaments break down naturally, while recycled filaments reduce plastic waste and promote a circular economy.
Circular system Economy:
By using recycled and biodegradable materials, the project promotes a circular economy, where materials are reused, recycled, or composted at the end of their lifecycle.
Reduced Carbon percentage:
Sustainable materials require less energy to produce and transport, reducing the project's overall carbon footprint.
reduce waste:
Using recycled materials diverts waste , and reduce the percentage of ocean plastic pollution .
User Awareness:
The use of eco-friendly materials raises awareness about sustainable practices and encourages users to adopt greener lifestyles.
project face
The prototype consists of 3 main parts
1-electronics box
2-main cover
3-light part
The connection between the light part and the plant pot will be 3 levels
(choose your suitable level depending on the height of your plant )
The water pot place will be detected when I finish the electronics connections , as there will be a pumper to water the plants and this pumper must be in suitable place to be near from the electronics and water pot
the irrigation tube will have holes to make the water reach to all soil
The LCD will appear a smiley face when you open the light

Describe how you’ll use Arduino programming, along with sensors and actuators, to create functions that improve your project’s efficiency, reduce resource use, or monitor environmental impact.
sensors ;will help in reducing the waste water that we use in irrigation ,over irrigation is harmful for the plant also it waste a lot of water that we need . (reduce waste)& (environmental impact)
The OLED ;show smiley face when light open , this help in the interaction between the human and the device ,so this will be interesting and the user will not get rid of it ----(sustainable)
RTC; to show real time
The Arduino; is the brain of the system that the maker use to make the device more easy to use by the user
