I wanted to make the design like this shape
simple yet practical

so I chose this as a start and started modifying it on my own

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

at this week's assignment fusion was the super star

I did all the designing ,joining ,and dxf exporting using it

it gave me a whole look at the project before making it on reality

fusion is really a powerful tool that I started to fall in love with .

in this week's assignment I decided not to use the 3d printer ,

so we won't use cura this week

instead , all of our manufatcuring will be done using laserworks

the materials used in this design will only be the 3mm wood sheets
ans of course the 3m srews and nuts

Design/Preparation Process

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

I started with designing the ground and selecting the proper places tor the

t-slot

then I designed the back of the big box

then designed the right side of the big box
and copied the body to the left side component

then designed the front face

the other box was so much easier ,I designed the rear panel and copied it into the front panel component

then I designed one side and copied it to the other side

and the final touch was to design this phone /notes holder ,to keep them from sliding

then I extruded every face by 3mm to give it the 3 look , and using the joint feature I joined the right faces together so we get the final look below

Development/Implementation Process

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

for exporting the .dxf we choose every body needed to be exported and export them using the extension in one folder to organize them.
and repeat the process till we finish all the bodies we have.

after finishing the export we import the files into laserworks
to start organizing them and prepare the for the laser cutting

the only process we will be doing is to cut , so we will adjust the parameters to only cut.

then save the .rld file to give it to the lab specialist to start cutting

then we connect the machine to the laptop and from users we choose read

after reading the machine we choose download

and after that we go to the machine
take anew sheet of wood

place it under the laser nozel at a corner
then we go to
file -> choose the wanted file ->enter
the we select the current position to be our origin
and ask the machine to frame the shape so we make sure the sheet of wood is proper
then click the green button to start the process.

I was trying hard to extrude the ground sketch but it was unable to be selected .

I like to hide the dimensions and constraint ,so did I to the profile
when the profile is hidden it can't be selected
when I searched it led me to autodesk official community
where I found my answer.

How can you use the skills and knowledge that you've acquired this week in your final project?

it will help me a lot to build a solid frame for my design
and organize the space inside for the electronics

I think I'll never forget how to make a t slot ever again

and x slots are so beautiful
