Materials
I used wood for the frame of the glasses, and I printed it for the shields, because this is one of the requirements for assignment
Design the Arms and export as (stl)
Open UltiMaker-Cura software and import (stl)
start to adjust model parameter values for:
layer height : using 0.16mm
infill : using 50%
4.slice the model to get time and weight for model
time :75min
weight : 8g
save the file to desk to (g.code) format to be prepared for 3D printing
The Process
First, I took the measurements from a real glasses , then I started designing the shape of the arms as 2D sketch .
Then I made an extrusion and wrote the things I wanted on the arm and made it hollow, then I made a place to install the nail and made an extrusion and made a hole for the nail, then I used fillet to make curved edges
The Steps ......
Design the frame as fully defined and export file as (dxf)
Open LaserWork software and import (dxf) file
Start to select lines and coloring it related to color function which related to design :-
black : for cutting
blue : for speed cut
red : for scanning
Put numbers for these colors
black : 20mm/s for speed - 75% for power
blue : 300mm/s for speed - 30% for power
export the file to (plt) format to be prepared for laser cutting
The Process
First, after I took the measurements from the real glasses, I made a 2D design and made it fully defined. Then I made an extrusion of the design and gave it a wooden appearance to make it look like its final shape.

I started designing the glasses arms according to the appropriate sizes and comfortable to use.
I started designing the outer frame of the glasses according to the measurements I took from the real glasses.
After making the design fully defined, I exported the design and gave it the color it would be printed in.
After doing the design and making it fully defined, I extracted the design.
Here I designed the part that connects the arm to the front frame of the glasses.
After making the shape, I made an extrusion for it and drew a place for the nail according to the size of the nail that will be used and made an extrusion cut.
The last thing I gave the frame was a wooden look to make it look like the real thing.
After all these operations, I uploaded the file as dxf and downloaded it to the laser program, gave it the appropriate colors and power, and manufactured it.
Here I have created a Felt command to make the edges smooth and harmless to the user.
Finally I wrote a cute phrase to give the glasses some style and make them more party friendly.
After all these operations, I uploaded the file as stl and downloaded it to the printing program, gave it the necessary settings, and then printed it.

IN Glasses Arms After downloading the file, I set the size and determined the amount of the material, its type infill , the thickness of the layers, and the thickness of the same, then we download it to the printer and start in the character of the model, and the time and the material of the crisis
In the Glasses Frame , after we create the design on the laser work and determine the colors, power and speed, we start uploading the file to the machine and start the steps by setting the sheet on the machine. After that, we determine the center point. After that, we adjust the focus. After that, we set the frame for the design. After that, we turn on the machine and let it cut the wood.
I think I didn't need feedback from any of my colleagues because the design was very special to me and I didn't want to change anything about it.
Problem
I had the same problem the first week, even though I changed the entire chip, but the power did not cut the board
Key
It is that I do a test for the Power before use to avoid any waste or damage to the wood again
it will help me in designing ma project as i want and faprecate it in the right way with no wast in my time and materials
One of the best things that I learned is that I have the ability to design anything that I want and I manufacture and I have the ability to deal with the laser machine and the printing machine well.
