Atlas holding the mountains
This week’s activities were divided into two main parts: Laser cutting and 3D printing. For Laser cutting,
The lecture provided valuable insights into laser cutting tools and the range of materials used in digital fabrication. Participants had the opportunity to explore these materials firsthand in the Fab Lab.
Midweek self-guided practice proved beneficial for gaining a deeper understanding of the relevant software. Instructional guides supported the learning process, helping to clarify how to prepare design files and operate both 3D printers and laser cutters.
During the Eoweek session, selected design files were discussed with the instructor, offering a chance to explore concepts and address potential challenges. Finally, the week concluded with hands-on work in the Fab Lab to complete the weekly assignment.

Luckily, this week was easy and quick for me. I faced no setbacks. However this does not stop me from learning something new. A friend of mine, did not set adhesion in her piece. Thus when printed, the piece move and it was ruined. She had to do it again.
Solution:
Prevents warping – Poor adhesion can cause corners to lift
Improves dimensional accuracy – Good adhesion keeps the model stable in the exact spot, avoiding layer shifts.
Reduces print failure – Without it, prints can detach mid-process, wasting time and filament.

In my university i wanted to learn this program, but i was told it will not be important. I am glad i had this chance.
