Punisher Logo
Laser cut
I chose the punisher logo as inspiration from the punisher movie and series

3D Printing
the inspiration came from an anime of dragon ball z and I wanted to make son Goku
3D Printer software, machine and materials
cura Software
we use it to
adjust the orientation and choose the best position for printing
choose the infill percentage and the draft the layer height
slice the part to see how much would it take and if there's any adjustment can de done or parameters to be adjusted
PLA
Prusa 3D Printer
Laser software, machine and materials
3 mm ply wood
RDwork laser software
for the purpose of
adjusting the orientation of the part
choose the the paramters of speed and power for cutting, engraving and speed cut activity
laser machine
3D Printing
1. Search for the desired file through thingverse.com and download it in (. STL) format for 3D printing.
2. Choose the printers (Prusa i3 Mk2 or Prusa i3 Mk3)
3. Choose the PLA filament.
4. Import the file to Ultimake Cura software
5. Slice the file to see the required time for printing
6. Depending on the time, shape, material, finishing, and weight adjust the parameters for the desired shape then slice and preview.
7. My parameters and dimensions were :
· Resolution= 0.2 mm
· Strength = 10 % Infill Density
· Time = 22 min.
· Weight = 3 g.
· My design doesn’t need much support
8. Finally Export the gcode of the file and rename the file mentioning

Laser Cutting
1. Search for a 2D model and download it which should be a single piece in a *.DXF format to be cut by Laser Cutting.
(I found mine on DXFDOWNLOADS.COM)
2. Import the file to Laser work software.
3. Move the design to the left top corner (near the origin) to make sure the nozzle will start from the origin so you can save material and better utilize the sheet.
4. Resize it for your dimensions (lock the aspect ratio).
5. Choose the Color of your design lines to give the machine cutting and engraving instructions.
6. Adjust the power and speed of every color
I chose:
a) Black color is for cutting (speed=25, power=65)
b) Red is for scanning (speed=300, power=25)
c) blue for speed cut (speed= 330 power = 15)
7. Check the hatch area
8. Save the file in a format (*.rld) and rename it
Laser cutting
1. open the file on RD works
Laser cutting
2. Check the parameters with the instructor
3. Adjust the cut, scan, and speed cut parameters.
4. Downloaded the file to the machine
5. Fixed the sheet and opened the blower
6. Adjusted the nozzle of the beam
7. identify the origin point on the wood sheet.
8. choose the file from the machine memory.
9. frame to simulate the size of the cut on the sheet.
10. Press enter to start the process.
3D Printing
1- open the STL file using Ultimaker-Cura software.
2- Recheck the parameter with the instructor
3- Change the scale and the orientation again to decrease the time frame
4- do simulations to see the way that machine will perform.
5- save the file as a G-code with the name of the body, Material, grams, and time.
6- download the STL file from the machine memory.
7- choose the file to print.
8- Adjust the temperature and wait for the printer to be heated
9- press enter to start the process.
Before
one of the challenges was how to make a free unengraved area inside an engraved area and the instructor helped me do it that we choose engrave for the both lines so the mutual area wouldn't be engraved
After
it will help me utilizing cura and RDWorks to adjust my fial design
the speed cut feature and engraving feature
