a colorful and minimalistic eyeglass at the same moment. it looks cool despite its designed of simple geometric shapes.
fusion 360 to design the frame and 2 arms.
Cura for slicing
Prusa 3D printer
sandpaper tools to clean up the 3d printed arms
LaserWorks for preparing the design of the wooden parts before cutting.

Stage 1: handwritten sketching
dimensions reference
handwritten sketch
Stage 2: fusion 360 design
design one arm using 2 components (the arm itself and the part that we implement the screw in)
extrude the 2 components
assemble them together
Note: we can copy the 2 extruded components and repeat the assembly step to create the secondary. this step is not essential for the fabrication.
4. export .stl file
5. using Cura, we flip our design on its back to minimize the support.
6. duplicate our design to print the 2 arms at one time
7. apply adhesion
8. choose skirt support type.
Note: make sure there is enough width around the M3 hole
9. in a new component, we create the design of the eyeglasses frame using a circle and an ellipses.
cut all the extra lines
copy the hole part and paste it to the frame sketch
draw a construction line over the x-axisand mirror over it
finish sketch and extrude with 3 mm thickness
final result
10. export using .dxf exporting extension
11. using LaserWorks software, import our .dxf file and prepare it for fabrication
Stage 3: edit the arm design to be fully defined and add fillet to the edges
edit the thickness sidelong part of the arm and fully define the whole design
extrude
use fillet with the edges to make them curved
final result
Stage 4: asseble all parts
Stage 5: adjust appearance and material in fusion 360
1- from modify dropdown menu, choose appearance
2-cc select any appearance from library section and drag it to In This Design section to be used.
3- drag any appearance from In This Design section to the component body itself.
Note: to change color of any appearance, right click on the appearance from In This Design section, choose edit, and choose the suitable color.
4- from modify dropdown menu, choose physical material
5- by the same way we choose the suitable wood material and drag it to our eyeglasses frame.
final result
Prusa:
changing filament: choose unload, then take off the filament. choose upload, and insert the new filament inside the nozzle.
Printing: we saved the file from Cure to the SD card related to our Prusa printer.
unloading the filament
El Malky ML149 CO2 Laser Cutter:
1- before using the laser cutter, ensure that our cutting and scan parameters are suitable.
2- download the .rld file to the machine
3- set the focus of the laaser cutter
4- click frame button to predefine the area of cutting.
5- click start button to start cutting.
while using Prusa, it printed an undefined part and then got stuck to it. the already printed layer got out of its place.
With the help of our lap specialist, we stopped the printing, took off, and cleaned all of the printed layers. we then started our printing again from scratch.
