Palestine Calligraphy key chain.
A coaster that be used also in decoration. we can use strings to decorate it.
key chain
1- Browsed (Thingiverse) CAD library for a design file that meets the requirements.
2- Used Cura software to prepare the file for printing.
3- Using Prusa 3D printer to print the file.
Coaster
1- first of all, search for a proper design file using https://3axis.co
2- use Laser works software to prepare the file for fabrication.
3- will use El Malky ML149 CO2 Laser Cutter.
tools take off adhesion layer of keychain
Keychain
1- choose the 3D printer and the filament type from the top right menus.
2- set our design at the center of the coordinate axes.
3- rescale the x and y directions while checking the uniform scaling button.
4- rescale the z direction without checking the uniform scaling button. trying to increase the height to increase the stiffness of the keychain. to prevent breaking from the weak parts.
5- adjust the profile/resolution, infill, support, and adhesion from the top right menu.
choose a resolution of 0.15 so that the details of the calligraphy appear more accurate.
infill adjusted automatically to 10% ??
we needn't support because there are no vertical curves.
apply adhesion.
6- apply slicing to check our design's time, weight, and layers.
7- save the file using the following name formula: name_time_material_color_weight_resolution.gcode
Coaster
1- download the design file in a *.DXF format
2- we use import option instead of open when dealing with the *.DXF file for the first time
3- the file I downloaded has more than one design, so we select the unwanted designs and delete them.
4- select the design and drag it to the top right corner of our workspace
5- rescale the size if needed. Use the lock button for uniform rescaling in both directions. (not needed in our case)
6- select the lines that need to be cut with a black color
select the lines that need speed cut with a blue color
select the lines that need to be engraved with a red color
7- adjust the proper speed and power for each type of line.
8- finally, we save the file in *.rld formal
Prusa
Note: we changed our key chain size before fabrication.
change the PLA filament of our machine
1- choosing unload option from the machine. when the heating to unload is done, we manually remove the filament.
2- Choose Upload filament option from the machine. the heating to upload is done, we manually insert the new filament.
3- wait until the testing filament coming out from the machine is our new color.
Printing our 3d design
1- insert an SD card with our .gcode file to Prusa.
2- choose print from SD card option from the machine.
3- select the file. when the preheating to print process is done, the machine will start printing automatically.
take off the adhesion layer
El Malky ML149 CO2 Laser Cutter
1- open .rld filefrom laserWorks spftware.
2- reassure that our cutting and scan parameter are suitable.
3-downlad our file to the machine
4- add a wooden piece to fix our plywood sheet to the machine.
5- check the focus of the machine.
6- from the machine control screen, choose our file.
7- click frame button to predefine the area of cutting.
8- click start button to start cutting.
Printing Temperature wasn't set to 215 the default of prusa machine.
we adjusted it from the machine or can be adjusted from Cura slicing software
