3D Printing
Laser Cutting
The assignment of this week are watching video tutorials and prepare design files and fabricate models using 3D Printing and Laser Cutting.
The 3D shal be in .STL format & Laser cutting shall be DXF format.
I am caring about implementing make models by myself to get the skill and experience of 3D printing and laser cutting.
My inspiration came from making:-
1-Laser Cut Wall Key Hanger Love Home Decor DXF File.
2-Eye of Horus medal

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?
Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?
I used different software / materials / machines depending on the task I want to implement as below:-
-3D printing:-
Software : Ultimaker Cura .
Machine : PRUSA i3 MK3 3D Printer
Material: PLA
-laser cutting:-
Software: RDWorksV8.
Machine : El Malky ML1390 CO2 Laser Cutter.
Material: Plywood sheet 0.3*30*50 cm.

The preparation process started with downloading the software of Laserworkv6 and Ultimaker Cura from the portal.
laser cutting:
0-Open LaserWorkV6 software.
1-Imported the file with extension .dxf to the LaserWorkV6 program.
2-selected the parts which I will cut and give it black color to be identified & the parts that will be engraved (Scan) and give it red color.
3-Setup the parameters of each method of cut or scan depend on the kind of material and design need as below:

*Identify mode. "Cut or Scan"
*Identify Speed. "15 to 350"
*Identify Power. " 20 to 65"
4-Saved the file with extension .rld to be ready.
3D Printing:
1-Imported the file with extension .stl into the Ultimaker Cura software.
2-Check the scale and orientation of the design.
3-sliced the design to preview the parameters:
*Time of printing. "33 Min"
*The weight of grams. " 5g"
*Layer height. "0.2mm"
*Infill. " 20%"

I used Laser cutting and 3D printing machines:-
A- Laser cutting machine
1- Import DXF file on the laser work software.
2- remove not needed lines.
3-identify the cut and scan parameters.
4-do simulations to see the way that machine will perform.
5- download the file to the laser machine after turn machine on.
6-ideintfy the origin point on the wood sheet.
7- choose the file from the machine memory.
8- press the frame to see the size of cutting on the wood sheet.
9- press enter to start the machine process.
B- 3D printing machine
1- Import stl file to the Ultimaker-Cura software.
2- Check the 3d object overall.
3-identify the printing & fill in & brim parameters.
4-do simulations to see the way that machine will perform.
5- save the file as G-code with the name of body, Material, grams, time.
6-download the stl file on the machine memory.
7- change the filament material if needed.
8- choose the file to print.
9- press enter to start the machine process.

The lab specialist was very helpful which teach me how to use the laser work and 3d printing machines.
There was a problem in change the 3D printer filament because I don't know how to change it, the Lab specialist helped me to get this skill then I helped another people how to do it.

The skill of this week would help me to understand the extensions of file that i will need to use to do laser work and 3D printing, how to perform the objects before start to implement.
