When I started to search on google about 3d and 2d designs, I fell in love with many many designs that I wanted to work on.
Laser cutting designs that I loved and took inspiration from the middle one as I made a coaster.
And these are 3D printing designs that I liked
Because I know that I have to choose only one for laser cut and one another for 3d printing, I decided to choose what I can give for my family as a gift :)
The fancy coaster that I decided to get
The little heart what I choosed :D
The machines
I used CNC laser cutting machine to cut the glasses frame. And I used 3d printer "Prusa i3 MK2" to print the glasses' arms.
The soft-wares
Of course, I used LaserWork and Cura to work on the DXF and STL files, then I went to our wonderful lab to work on laser cuter and Pursa 3D printer to finalize my work.
The materials
I used mdf, PLA and silver spray paint as materials for my product.
Coaster - Laser cut
I downloaded the DXF file.
Then import it to Laser works to run the laser cutter.
I adjusted the scan "engraving" power: 30, speed: 300.
I adjusted the cut power: 65, speed: 30.

Geometric Heart - 3D Printer
I downloaded the STL file.
Then import it to cura to run the 3d printer.
I exported the file to the 3d printer by the gcode file.
I adjusted the infilling: 10, layer-hot "temperature": 215, scaling, extra fast: 20 mins-3g.
I used support and didn't use prim.

Geometric Heart - 3D Printer
At the begging I checked with the specialist the overall settings to make sure all is well.
At the begging I selected the red PLA for the printer.
I put the gcode file, which is imported from cura, on the memory card.
I adjusted the infilling: 10, layer-hot "temperature": 215, scaling, extra fast: 20 mins-3g. And I started printing.
The 3d printer started to make its nozzle.
At the begging I checked with the specialist the overall settings to make sure all is well.
I connected the PC with the machine and copied the file to it.
after adjusting the measurements, I chose the areas to be cut.
I adjusting parameters for the cut : properties of speed: 30, and power: 65.
I saved the file as .rd.
In the laser cutter, I prepared the machine for start working as I put the wooden sheet, placed the origin point and checked the focus and let it work.
When I finished the coaster I brushed it with black color.
Then I moved to the printer to see my little beautiful heart :) to get the final amazing first products in my life. Finally, I gave the coaster and the heart to my mom and my wife as a gift and they surprised <3
After finishing cutting, the coaster didn't be cut because of malfunction of the wood, the specialist advised me to re-cut again on the original one and all is done :). But the engraving part (circles) became so weak as the machine worked on it twice.
Because I believe it's Integrated journey, while I was working on this project, I imagined many times how can I find easily cool designs to my final project
I never imagined that the digital fab will be to me a magic world like I feel now. I daily see many of inspired designs of the makers around the world and I joined some cool groups on many social networks.
I loved the idea of Hands on itself, I got inspired from many of them.
Also we made the week activity which was implementing laser cutting and 3d printing.
The activity is to make a dinosaur and set the layer height, position, infill and if needs any support. We faced a problem that there are voids between the layers but this is due to the the layer height.
