Week # 3- Journal

My challenge this week is two make a pen and pencil holder.

I get my inspiration from what I usually use, As I put my pens in the cup.

So I start to design a simple holder I can use considering limitations (30 grams or up to 90 minutes).

1. Search for ideas on internet tring to find a lot of ideas and get inspired from them.

2. Measuring my pens and tools, To the least dimensions. (70mm height and 40mm diameter)

3. Go to fusion and make the design with these dimensions.

4. Then add the appearance by press double click on the body and then choose plastic material and white color (as shown on figures)

5. Export the file as stl file to handle it on cura.

with some details:

• Customize the parameters.

profiles 0.3(to save time), infill 20 and support placement (Touching Buildplate), and temperature 215ْ

• Then click slice and check the layers, time and grams.

• Then select the perfect position to print.

• And finally save the file in gcode extension and put it in machine SD.

• The steps

1. Heat the felement on the machine to unload the exsist felement (It was black and I want to make my part in white :-) )

2. Then change It with white color and order loading felement

3. Choose the file from SD

• to be more familiar about the other photos which is present the steps you should check the manual of the machine that I mentioned at tool chain question.

• Watching carefully the process for first 5 layers

This week my specific Challenge is to conseder the limitations on my design(30 grams or up to 90 minutes).

I made about 2 designs but unfortunately one of them get below the limitations and the second is not valid to be printed.

And after alot of thinking after get experience from these designs

I start to make the final one which is meets limitations successfully
