This is a project from 2021 Maker Diploma which is very close to my project.

-The smart box that be opened with password.
-It solves theft problems.
-I care, as it is important to protect my important possessions.
-I inspired by the integrated of the motor, display and sensors to get the function.
Software used: Fusion360 (Check it here )
Make sides of the box and assembly them using bolts and nuts to make sure it fits well.
Download the electronics components from GrabCAD
Design hinged support
Assembly the components and supports
Make housing for breadboard, Arduino, Buzzer, DC power connector, Keypad, LCD and IR sensor.
Assembly the housing with the box and components
Design umbrella lock and assembly it with Servo Motor
Check this video to realize the steps clearly
Softwares used: LaserWork in laser cutting
Machines used: Morn MT3050D CO2 Laser Cutter
Materials used: PLYwood 3mm in Laser cutter

I started with Laser cutting machine to make the sides of the box and the housing of the components
Exports faces I want to cut with extension DXF file
Write any text I want on LaserWork because for me it is easier than fusion
And for each file I entered the correct value of powering and speed to get what I looking for
Assembly them and insert the electronics components to make sure every thing fit well
Front Face
The Two sides
Bottom side
Electronics housing
Back side
Top side
This text on top side is a riddle that no one - except me - can solve, so if I forget the password, I can easily figure it out :))
NOW Making sure every thing fit well
Then I go to 3D printer to print supports, Servo housing and ambarella Lock
Export the stl file for hinged support, umbrella lock and Servo housing
Check them on Cura and edit the setting as I want
Finally export gcode file to the machine (the file name: Final_27g_3h20min_White [Check the link at the end of the page])
Insert each part of them to its position and make sure all fit well
Check Sketchfab to better view
Components used:
Arduino
Bread board
Keypad(physically INPUT)
Buzzer(ACTION)
Servo motor(ACTION)
LCD 16*2 (OUTPUT)
IR sensor(Automatic INPUT)
Wires to make the connections
Software used:
Fritzing--> to make the connection (How to Download and use Fritzing program )
Arduino IDE --> to upload the code on (Run the program)
I use 5V adaptor--> I don't use any component that require voltage higher than 5V, So I use this adaptor to power Arduino by making the Ground common and its positive on Vin on Arduino
Code Functionality:
The main function is to control servo using certain password.
I used keypad to enter the password through and display using LCD
if the password entered was '789#' which is the correct password the motor rotate 90 degree (unlocked position) and any other inputs the motor will locate at locked position
then I added display feature which is shown "Hello THOMAS" if the correct password was entered.
but if it the correct password was not entered the LCD display "Enter Correct Password".
Also If the servo was locked (the display shows "Enter correct password")and IR sensor detect object(Top side) Buzz OFF, else Buzz ON
Check the flowchart to get the function faster
Now it is the time to assembly electronics components with fabrication parts and check the functionality if it works correct or no.
The results was so good and now It is the time to finish the project with 100 percent (Insert electronics components housing)
finally See the results and be PROUD
I was asking how to collect the wires in my box together specially the 4 wires of LCD and 5 wires of Keypad which are away from electronics housing and Ahmed Saeed suggested me to use special wires called Spiral Wrapping and it make the view more better
1) Unfortunately The back side part face which will be outside had burn signs so I ask how could I get rid of them and My fiend Hassan Khaled advice me to use this GSS 18V-10 PROFESSIONAL machine which make emery quickly and efficiently
And the result was so good
2) While using Laser cutting machine I ask for advice about speed and power I should Enter to machine to make the thin engraving for the text and I My friend Michael Henry advised me to make the speed 300 and power 35 and the result was amazing
I want to add Bluetooth connection so to open the box I should send the correct signal and Enter the right password
And If some one open the box by force the buzzer will be ON and warning text should be sent to the owner phone
