This week my assignment idea is Owl Clock with laser cut & Spinning Toy with 3D printing.
I always enjoy the beauty of the Owls so i decided to make an ornament to use it on my daily bases so i chose the Owl Clock

And for the 3D printing i chose something from thingiverse to play with it.

Preparing on Laser Work
Owl Clock
Preparing on Ultimaker Cura
Spinning Toy
I used Ultimate Cura software to check profile, infill & slice
I used profile 0.2 Infill 20% / Slice 1Hour & 2 mins
I decided to use support & Adhesion
Finally i check everything before i do the process on the machine
I used Laser Work software to prepare my Owl Clock
My design was so simple i just focus about Speed 15 & Power 70% to cut my model
I open laser work program & then import my file then check size
I prepared it for fabrication with Speed 15 & Power 70%
I went to the lap by applying a time slot and then put my RLD file to proceed the process of the laser cut machine.
Then, i did the setting on the controlling of the machine
Finally i ordered it to cut my design
Owl Clock
In progress
In the same day slot of laser cut, i already prepare the STL file on Ultimate Cura software to check profile, infill & slice
I use profile 0.2 Infill 20% / Slice 1Hour & 2 mins
I decided to put supports , took a copy of the file on the memory card of the machine
Then open the machine to heat after that select my file & OK
After finishing the process i collect the spinning body with the thin base
Finally "I DID IT" and it's spinning
Instructors (Amani & Ibrahim) help me a lot because it was the first time fabricated things alone & to edit a design using software
All my team liked my owl clock & we all played with Spinning Toy
So all of that makes me interested & excited to complete the Maker Diploma
In this step, I faced a problem after fabrication with a laser cut machine.
My Owl Clock didn't cut all & there was a small part I make a huge effort to cut it down with this tool.
But I did it with a help of lap specialists.
The work of having different shades with the burn percent on the same object
Super Mario
T-rex 3D
It's not necessary to put a support or each design for 3D printing
