This week we'll design pen holder to print in 3d printing, so I decided to use the organic pattern, and for inspiration I search about pen and pencil holder + 3D Printing organic pattern and found this picture.
We use Fusion 360 software to design the model of Pen holder and export it as SLT files
We use Ultimate Cura Software to slicing the 3d design and export into G-code file.
We use prusa i3 mk3 for 3D printing.
Green PLA Filament.
open fusion 360
Draw cylinder 100 diameter 130 hight
use shell feature to shell the cylinder to 5mm.
make a sketch on XZ plane and draw a rectangle, end the sketch
Use Voronoi sketch generator add-in to make an organic pattern
Use Emposs feature to put the pattern on the cylinder.
Add appearance to the 3D model.
Export the STL file to open in Cura software .
9. Open Cura software
10. Open the STL file
11. prepare the model and slicing .
12. Export the G-code file.
Before starting print I changed the filament, preheat the nosel, and choose in print remove the filament then choose to plug in a new filament.
put the SD card in the printer.
3D print settings are 0.2mm to layer height, 30% infill, no support, no adhesion, 10g, 1h10m,
choose the G-code file, and start printing.
I had a problem sketching an organic pattern on fusion 360, so while the assignment was reviewed some students ask how to do it and the instructor told them to search in add-on for fusion, so I search YouTube and found a video explaining how to do it.
