we had to choose two models one for the 3d printing and the other for laser cutting. the idea of the assignment is to be familiar with the 3d printer and the laser cutter

part 1: 3d printing
this is the model I chose to 3d print. it is a model of a person called Sylas.
it was inspired from the famous game league of legends . I spend so much playing with this character in this game so I thought it would be nice if I have a 3d printed model of my favorite character.
the file was downloaded from (Thingiverse) CAD library.

this is the picture i chose to apply the laser cutting part.
I really love animals so when I saw this deer I decided to use the picture for the assignment.

part 1: 3d printing
this was the STL file was downloaded from (Thingiverse) CAD library. it is a single piece model.

I used ultimaker cura to slice the model.
infill: 10%
resolution is 0.3 (extra fast)
scale: scale is adjusted to 30% of the real STL file
time: 1hour 15 min

for the 3d printing part :
first I sent the gcode to the memory card then inserted the memory card to the printer and chose the file then the process began
it started to heat till 215 degree then the machine tested if there anything unusual in the pad then started to fabricate the figure
as shown in the figure, the file was succesfully fabricated
for the laser cutting part :
first I sent the RLD file to the flash card then inserted it to the computer and downloaded the file to the machine. then I specified the origin and checked the frame after adjusting the focus of course.

one problem I faced is when using laser cutter machine the model I wanted didn't cut from the first time so I had to make the process again which lead to black color (burn color) in the back of the model.
to fix this problem i had to print the body again with fixed power and speed values.
it was all because I used less power (60) and more speed (20)
in the first time but in the second time I fixed it to power (70) and speed (15)

using the 3d printer to make a file I chose was a really WOW thing to me as I wanted to do this from a long long time
