I am bothered by the way I use my smartphone and my inability in many cases to give it up, as well as the constant distraction of my attention, and its intrusion into my life and my thinking, even in the affairs of my normal life. I am bothered by people's preoccupation with their phones, which is increasing day by day, even in one house. It has become common to see everyone in the house bent over their phone and replace this lack of communication with their real communication with their parents and family members. It is not difficult to see similar sights in work, malls, beaches and almost everywhere.
I often tried to use some apps on my phone to monitor and control my use of it and try to reach a usage pattern that would give me the upper hand and complete control. I still use some of these apps, but I've noticed that over time I become less and less dependent on them and try to get past their presence one way or another.
Our attention is our most precious capital and the biggest challenge is managing it in a way that enables us to live and progress as well as protect it from the distractions that waste it and our energy.
I'm interested in ideas that help us control our phone use and actually live our lives in a better and better way. I thought of a simple idea which is a box we put our smartphones in, that has a smartly controlled lock and can have a timer that is set so that it doesn't open before the specified time has passed. This time away from our phones can then give us a chance to explore ourselves, the world, and the people around us. This is the basic idea that I have thought about and I can think of some other appropriate characteristics that can be added to this idea so that it becomes more entertaining and attractive within the limits of the possibilities and time.
يؤرقني النمط الذي أستخدم به هاتفي الذكي وعدم قدرتي في أحيان كثيرة على التخلي عنه فضلا عن تشتيته الدائم لانتباهي، واقتحامه لحياتي وتفكيري حتى في شئون حياتي العادية. يؤرقني انشغال الناس بهواتفهم والذي يتضاعد يوما عن يوم حتى في البيت الواحد. أصبح من الشائع أن ترى كل فرد في البيت عاكفا على هاتفه واستبدل تواصله المنقوص هذا بتواصله الحقيقي مع أهله وأفراد أسرته. ليس صعبا أن نرى مشاهدا مشابهة في العمل، والمولات، والشواطيء وكل مكان تقريبا.
حاولت كثيرا استخدام بعض التطبيقات على هاتفي لمراقبة وضبط استخدامي له ومحاولة الوصول لنمط استخدام يكون لي اليد العليا والتحكم الكامل. ما أزال أستخدم بعض هذه التطبيقات، ولكنني لاحظت أنه بمرور الوقت يقل اعتمادي عليها وأحاول تجاوز وجودها بطريقة أو أخرى.
انتباهنا هو رأس مالنا الأغلى والتحدي الأكبر هو إدارته بطريقة تمكننا من الحياة والتقدم فضلا عن حمايته من المشتتات التي تهدره وتهدر طاقتنا.
أنا مهتم بالأفكار التي تساعدنا على ضبط استخدامنا لهواتفنا وعيش حياتنا في الواقع بطريقة أفضل وأحسن. فكرت في فكرة بسيطة وهي عبارة عن صندوق نضع فيه هواتفنا الذكية، وله قفل يتم التحكم فيه بذكاء ويمكن أن يكون له مؤقت يتم ضبطه بحيث لا يفتح قبل مرور الفترة المحددة. يمكن ساعتها أن يعطينا هذا الوقت بعيدا عن هواتفنا فرصة لاستكشاف أنفسنا والعالم والناس من حولنا. هذه هي الفكرة الأساسية التي فكرت فيها ويمكن أنا أفكر في بعض الخصائص المناسبة الأخرى التي يمكن إضافتها لهذه الفكرة حتى تصبح مسلية وجاذبة أكثر في حدود الإمكانيات والوقت.
The main tools and software utilities during this stage:
The main project body is a box with 6 sides, The top side is composed from two parts. one part as the door and the other for receiving the servo horn that will act as the locker mechanism. So the whole box is composed from 7 parts.
My begin point is the main base that will fix all other parts together.

This one of four sides with t-slot to carry a "screw and nut" to get well fixed sides.
I tried to utilize this side to copy the other sides from it during extrude operation to make design process more simple.

- The beginning point here is the DXF I got for Fusion 360 SW.
- The main star here is LaserWork SW.
- I imported a DXF file to LaserWork and I reviewed the simple design lines.
- The black lines will be the borders used by the machine to materialize this design into a piece between my hands.
- I exported the design into an RDL file ready for the Laser Cutter Machine.
- The RDL will enter the PC connected by the machine that will do most of the work.
- I set the speed with specialist to 35 and power in range between 65 - 75.

A servo motor to lock/unlock door through horn action.

A potentiometer to set the time period for unlock box.

- The circuit has 2 action component (1 Buzzer) && (1 servo motor) && ( 2 LEDs).
- The circuit has 1 input component (1 potentiometer) && ( 1 push button)
- The breadboard will connect components with Arduino.

* When pressing push button the servo will move to 45 to close the box and green LED light.
* The potentiometer will feed the circuit by a variable value as the variable timer period between (1-3) minutes.
* When pressing push button the servo will move to 130 to open the box after period identified by potentiometer and play a sound on buzzer to mention the box is opened and red LED light.
I selected a 5V adapter to power servo motor and another 9V adapter to power Arduino to provide each with power needs to work well as this is ideal need.
- Firstly I included <servo> library to get ability of working on servo capabilities.
- I firstly also declare a constant with initial value identify the delay value with 0.
- The setup part contains my declaration for used components to use it with Arduino for both input and output.
- The logic part is simple. Firstly I read value from push-button to move servo to 45 degree and close the door at same time to light green LED and mute the buzzer.
- Secondly If I want to open the closed door:
* I get the passed time since Arduino started and store in a variable.
* I built a comparison condition to compare difference between Arduino passed time and time to begin timer regard to the time I set as a timer time through potentiometer move ( 30000-60000).
* IF the condition had been met it will move servo to 130 degree and is the door will open, and same time the LED light red with a sound from buzzer.

Our talented group instructor Amany guided me to break the design into small tasks. She guided me to begin from the base and then sketch one side and using it to build other sides through extrude with different parts.
Her idea and guidance were very important to overcome design challenge and get a good experience.
It was a challenge, but not was very difficult as I thought.
The main challenge for me was to end the design on Fusion 360. From the beginning of diploma and there is a barrier between me and design and using Fusion 360.
I tried to walk over the diploma videos and watching different videos from Youtube that could make my mission simple.
I thought that it is a big load to design each part from the box 7 parts.

I could add RFID reader module to read some cards that could modify the unlock period as a bonus as each card linked with an activity like ( Physical exercise, Reading story, cooking ....).
