I like the shape of curves so while searching on google I have found this photo and decided to make the same shape to hold my phone . But it wants to be supported by a back.
So , my idea is to use the same shape as the two sides of the holder , and I will use a back joined with the two sides by 2 slots and 4 tabs.

Fusion App
3mm wood
I used fusion APP to make the design in the 2D mode , I have drown one side and one back. Then I have copied the side and saw the 3D shape including the slot joins and tabs :) .
my 2D design for the side in fusion App
I used 4 circles of the same diameter to make the outer edges , Then used 3 curves to connect them together . Also, I used the T slot shape and put it in the half between the two tabs. Finally I have made two rectangles to act like tabs.
my 2D design for the back in fusion App
I used a rectangle to be the back to hold the two sides , and one small circle for the T slot and one small rectangle for the tabs , then I made two symmetric lines so that I can use the mirror. Finally I had the four rectangles and the two circles.

After finishing the 2D design I made extrusion in 3mm and as a component .Then I made a copy for the side I have sketched .Then I made them close to each other.

To see the shape of joints I have made , I used the assemble button to help me . I clicked on one rectangle from each side and on the corresponding rectangle . Finally the required shape appeared.
The shape in laserCAD
After I have saved the DXF files of the side and the back I then opened the laserCADE App to set the engrave and cut power and speed . Also I have written SALMA " my friend's name " on the back file and set it to be engraved, then I imported the side file and copied it to make to shapes. Finally I sent this file to the laser machine.
Laser machine while operating
After sending the file to the machine I clicked Box button to see the place I will work on then I clicked start. The engrave on the back was the first to be done then the 4 rectangles then whole back was cut, finally the shapes of the two sides was cut also.
When I started to box the laser machine I saw that the wood plank wasn't flat but it had some curves in the two sides .
The specialist told me that I had to make it flat so that the laser machine be accurate and suggested using the yellow adhesive tape to make the wood flat.
The three parts after the laser machine finished
I took three parts from the machine and at this moment I was so happy to get the process done in just few minutes :) .

I started collecting the three parts and join them together .I used 2 M3 screws and 2 nuts with the help of screw driver.
This tower in the fab-lab mansoura , actually , was gorgeous and I do like to make something like :0
I helped Ahmed Shelbaya with some work of the fab-lab mansoura to get things ready to be bought and I really liked this kind of work :).
