Crown shape
I really like the shape of crowns so I like to have a tiny one for me to put on my table. When I see it from time to time I'll feel good about my self :) . But I there was a problem I'll talk about later in the challenge section.
Dinasore shape
I've also chosen this dinasore shape cause it's really cute :) .
Watch shape
My idea in this project is this small watch , I really liked it's shape . But instead of cutting the butterfly and the woman face I'll engrave them :) .
Laser cutter machine
3D printer machine
Ultimaker cure App
Laser works App
White filament
3mm wood
Using Cure App
I used (Thingiverse ) website to get the file of the dinasore then I used cure app to prepare it for working in 3D printer.
I used layer height of 0.2 mm and 20% infill . My hole process will need 3g and 22 min.
I used (3axis.co ) website to get the file of the watch . fortunately it was in DXF format .finally I used laser cad app to prepare it for working in the laser cutting machine.
For the whole shape it will be 3.2 CM in 3.3 CM. I also made the cut power 75 and speed 15 , for the engrave power 25 and speed 300, and the second engrave power 50 and speed 300 .
First I started with the 3D printer to print the crown to take it's time, then moved to the laser machine to make my small watch . Finally both of them were successful operations. But we will see what happened next.
First layers
first when I went to the fab-lab I found the white filament applied to the machine . I liked it and didn't change the color , Then I took the SD card and moved my file to it then preheated the machine and started.

While the 3D printer was working I moved to the laser machine and send the gcode file . But before starting I clicked on Box button to see the place where the laser will work on my wood . Finally I clicked start.
3D printer finally finished
When the machine finally finished I took it and tried to remove the supports but unfortunately , the upper balls of the crown damaged.
My small watch is done!
The laser machine finally made the wanted shape with no problems.
The alternative 3D project
When the upper balls of my crown removed I started searching for another project and went to the 3D machine to operate the dinasore file and made the same steps like the crown project.
I had a problem while removing the supports from the crown as the upper balls of it were weak and damaged :(.
To solve this problem we would need to make the neck before each ball bigger, so I would need much grams and time. So,
With the help of my instructor we decided to change this project with another, so I have chosen to print the dinasore .
My sad crown with no balls :(
This week I have learned so many skills as:
1- How to deal with3D printing and laser cutting machines .
2- how to use software programmes to send files.
3- What are the files extensions needed to send those files to the machines.
4- How to get ready files from different websites and use them.
After all I have learned I managed to do those projects.
The dinasore
The small watch
This 3D project really attracted me when I saw in the fab-lab :0
The wooow!
