The task of this week is to design a model of a pen and pencil holder that may rest on a flat surface (Table Top) using Fusion 360 and fabricate it using 3D Printing.

I used:
Pinterest web site for suitable design.
paper and pencil to draw the design.
Fusion360 to draw the design.
Cura software to prepare the file for printing.

I searched on Pinterest to find a suitable design that couldn't exceed 30 grams and 90 minutes.
I used paper and pencil and draw the design to imagine its dimensions.
I used cura software to make some modification and make the file ready for printing.
I used Fusion 360 to sketch the design after watching the uploaded videos many times.
I sketched a part of the sketch on x-z plan then revolve it by 360.
I made shell from the top with 3 ml.
I made a fillet for the top and the bottom by 7 ml.
I sketched another part on x-z plane and extrude it by cutting.
I repeated the last part by circular pattern 15 times.
I changed the color from the appearance.
By using cura I set the dimension to reduce the time and the weight as at the beginning I surprised that it needed more than 5 hours and about 60 grams.

I saved the file as a gcod file then I send the file to the memory card after making sure of the dimensions and it doesn't exceed 30 grams or 1.5 hour.
I used clear PLA filament with temp 200 c as written on the filament with out any support and speed was 60.

During the fabrication process after finishing half of the model there was a problem that the fabrications was not smooth and the result is not good. I thought that the I should put support.
By the help of the fab lab specialist E/ Hussien he suggested to decrease the speed.
when the speed decreased to 35 the fabrication becomes very smooth.

I do a lot of practicing on fusion 360 so I became familiar with it.
in the previous weeks I couldn't deal with the program very well so when I have a mistake I was deleting all the sketch and start again now I can do some modification without deleting whole the sketch.
