Using 3- D printing I decided to print a star that could be used as a key chain
As I love things that could give a positive energy that could encourage someone and feel comfortable so I needed to make models related to that and could be used in our daily life.

This week the assignment is to choose and prepare a design and do fabrication using a downloaded file in :
1- 3-D printer
2- laser cutting machine
Using laser cutting machine as my daughter loves birds and flowers so I decided to make a model that could be used as a decoration in her room

Laser cutting machine
during the fab lab session we worked in groups to fabricate Pixelated Super Mario KeyChain Using the Laser Cutting machine to digitally
I use the laser work program to make some modifications on a dXF file https://free-dxf.com/design-hummingbird-floral-art/free-download-dxf-cdr-ai-svg/GzLa8
as I saw in the uploaded videos, then I send the file to a flash card.
For 3-D printing machine
During the session we worked in group to prepare a design of T-rex using STL file and cura program.
In the assignment I downloaded STL file https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/88/ad/ff/ae/b8/power_star_blank_half.stl
and modify some options to be ready for the fabrication, the export the file as g.code file that loaded to the memory card for the printing process.

Laser cutting machine
I used scanning power for the different parts which was very close to each other(20&25) so the difference in graving will be noticed. but the fab lab specialist showed me a key for cutting and scanning that helped me a lot, So I modified the values of powers.
I adjust the focus for the machine.
I choosed the file that needed to be print.
I checked the working area.
finally i start printing . the time is given on the screen. (12 min.)
For 3-D printing machine
i cleaned the plate using alcohol to make sure its ready for printing.
I loaded the filament and wait for the suitable temp.
I inserted the memory card in side the machine and choose the file after making sure that its ready.

It was the first time for me to use Cure program so I didn't pat attention that the design contains a lot of holes from inside.
I decided to make two parts from the design and join them together but I didn't know the suitable glue the fab lab specialist told me that I could use super glue so the next time I will not forget to check the layers from the programs.
It was the first time for me to use these programs or to use these machines. so I am happy with this experience.

I can use the laser cutting machine to make the body of my robot and the #D printer machine to built the hands of my robot the could express the body language.
