Fan
This week I had to make a simple device with 2 outputs that should be having a on/off switch and a body holding all components.
My idea was a fan, the 2 outputs were the fan blowing air and a led indicating the device is on or off.
I made the body from cardboard in a half cylindrical shape to make it easy for the user to hold it.
I used Tinkercad to simulate the electronic circuit before making it in reality to make sure it's working and prevent burning of any component.
I used Tinkercad to simulate the electronic circuit.
At the beginning I did other circuits that had problems in simulating and not doing the same task that I wanted, so I returned to the videos and knew more about the components then went back to edit the circuit until I reached this result.
Also I used google search to know about the potentiometer connection.
I used the small breadboard as it consume less space than the large one.
I did the exact same connection I did on Tinkercad.
It didn't work at the beginning as some wired I had trouble fixing them but with some trying it worked eventually,
Then I used the cardboard to make the base where all the components will be fixed and made a cut for every component, then I fixed each one according to the design I had in mind, then I closed the body with a U shaped cardboard and made a gap on the back to allow air to go through it.
Electronic circuit
I asked my friend in the diploma, the handle of the device is too big for the hand to hold easily.
Also the device sometimes work and sometimes doesn't as it needs to vibrate the wires a little.
I got stuck several times when I was doing the electronic circuit.
I saw some videos to help me know more about some components like the exact resistor that should be connected in series with the led bulb.
Also I used google search to know the potentiometer connection.

Making a simple device is a small step in making more complex device in the final project.
It was very useful trying the connection on Tinkercad at first before making it in reality.
I did learn a lot by imagining the design of the device before cutting cardboard, which will eventually help me imagining the final project design and making it easier for the user to use it.
Making the first simple device in maker diploma.
I'll never forget seeing the first device I made working for the first time.
