The assignment this week was to learn how to sketch models for lazer cutting and to build a mobile holder using what i learned during the week

Tool Chain

Which software/machines/materials did you use in the assignment? Why?

I used fusion 360 because it makes me able to draw in different dimentions in the same time also its easy to assemble parts with it

I sketched every part of the holder then assembled the together

the material was plywood

also used laser cutting machine to cut the wood

for assembly used m3 screws and nuts

Explain the design and/or preparation process of your assignment. How did you use the tool or software to design and/or prepare your assignment before fabrication/implementation?

as i like action figures so i used the anime attack on titans as a reference for the design

Inspired by my hands on cardboard mobile holder

I tried to design makes me able to change the degree of inclination of the back also it has a hole makes me able to recharge the mobile .

I started by skething this front part then I drew all the parts in all dimentions

i searched how to adjust the format of the living hinge i found a link on week that gives me easter eggs that gives me the format for the thickness

i made this using sheet metal features from this youtube video

the hinge supposed to move to change the angel of the phone

I opened the dxf file in lazer works to prepare the design to be cutted

i programmed the black for cutting and the red for engraving and the blue for speed cut

Explain the development/implementation process of your assignment. How did you use the machine/tool to manufacture or implement the design of your assignment?

I downloaded the design to the laser cutting machine and the parts were ready to be assembeled

i didn't know how to make the hinge so i asked the instructor esraa and one of my peers (marwa sobhi) and they guided me to a link was in the ester eggs of week 1

Overcoming Challenges

When you got stuck, what/who did you turn to? At what point did you have to pause to research or learn more before moving on? What are some mistakes, pitfalls, or challenges that others can avoid if they were doing this assignment?

Unfortunately the hinge was broken because the machine didn't get to the other side of the wood and I broke it while I was trying to fix it so I will wait to cut it again until the machine works in good way when the get the air conditioner ready so the machine works in a right way

now i can design and imagine how the shape of the final project will be

at first i practised with the video learning how to draw a sketch then how to extrude and assemble the sketch with joints

also this cool chair assignment

i started with this following the video instructions using orders like ( line /arc / circular pattern )

also i practiced this assignment of afidget spinner i used circular pattern order ,offset and arc
