Please reach out to your school social worker if you need a more specific resource.
This page was created for anyone in our school community that is in need of resources and supports. It is monitored and created by the School Social Worker team as a way to bridge the gap between the Salem- Keizer School Social Workers and the families of the youth they serve.
Community Resources: are typically organizations or agencies that serves a particular geographical area or group of people by providing tools to help that community grow in positive ways and improve the quality of life for the people of that community.
For immediate support and resources we recommend contacting 211 information line or www.211info.org
Our hope is that this site can be a first step in seeking support throughout the year. Resources often change in our community. This page will be updated as new information is gathered.
About Us
Salem-Keizer School District has increased the team of social workers to support students, families and staff around social emotional needs. As a team majority of us are located in middle and high schools supporting our home schools as well as the elementary schools that feed into the middle schools.
"School social workers have been providing a critical link between school, home, and community. The school social work profession has consistently focused on coordinating the efforts of schools, families, and communities toward helping students improve their academic achievement and social, emotional, and behavioral competence by using its unique perspective of viewing the person in his or her environment.
School social workers seek to ensure equitable education opportunities; ensure that students are mentally, physically, and emotionally present in the classroom; and promote respect and dignity for all students" (NASW, 2012)
