I am a Senior at Salisbury Academy Upper School with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a drive to solve real-world problems in the community.
Students at Salisbury Academy engage with experiential learning and high-quality classroom instruction in order to make connections across content in a relevant and personalized way.
Throughout high school, I have sought opportunities to combine leadership, service, and innovation in ways that create meaningful impact. Whether serving as Student Council President, interning in marketing and strategy, or volunteering through Habitat for Humanity and my church, I have consistently been motivated by a desire to lead with purpose, solve problems, and strengthen the communities around me.
Academically, I have challenged myself through advanced coursework, dual enrollment at Catawba College, and participation in programs such as North Carolina Governor’s School and Tar Heel Boys State. These experiences not only sharpened my intellectual curiosity in fields like business and government, but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the power of collaboration, civic engagement, and ethical leadership. My intended major in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing reflects both my skills and passions: analyzing trends, understanding people, and developing creative strategies that connect ideas with real-world impact.
Leadership has been central to my journey. As President of both Student Council and Junior Civitan International’s Board, I have gained firsthand experience in leading, planning, and team-building. Writing a new constitution for my school council, coordinating service projects across multiple states, and managing finances for my clubs have all strengthened my organizational and problem-solving skills. Each role has taught me how to listen, to lead with integrity, and to take responsibility for results.
Equally important has been my commitment to service. From volunteering hundreds hours with Habitat for Humanity, to helping my church’s disaster relief committee prepare for emergencies in Western North Carolina, to tutoring peers and leading community cleanups through National Honor Society, I have learned that true leadership is grounded in service. These experiences have shaped my values and instilled in me a conviction that business and leadership must ultimately serve people.
My faith and community have also played a formative role. At St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, I have served in youth ministry, men’s fellowship, and service committees. These experiences have anchored my perspective: that leadership should not be about personal recognition, but about building up others and contributing to the common good.
Looking ahead, I aspire to bring together my background in service, leadership, and business to pursue a career in marketing and, ultimately, in public leadership. I envision myself as someone who bridges industries, communities, and people, developing ideas that not only succeed in business but also enrich society.
I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to lead, serve, and learn. As I take the next step in my education, I look forward to continuing this journey with the same curiosity, determination, and commitment to service that have guided me thus far.
