Coach Smith made his debut appearance as head coach at the 2026 Saline High XC Time Trial. Thanks to the efforts of Coach Stern, athletes had a safe and successful night on our fast yet challenging course. A great way to start the season with a new coach at the helm.

In a very interesting race kit, Jake Szalay began what promises to be an incredible senior season with the first back-to-back Time Trial win in many years. Can't wait to see how fast he runs in a more aerodynamic jersey!

Sophomore Eduardo Lauchu has been struggling with some health issues this summer. Nevertheless, he has attended practice all summer and was determined to run the time trial as long as it was deemed safe to do so. Pacing himself early in the heat, the cheers erupted when he stormed home the last 600 meters at full speed. We're incredibly proud to have young men like Eddie on the team.
