App Smashing
Level 3
Level 3
Let's explore some practical tips for smashing apps and look at some that work well together.
Part of what makes App Smashing awesome is the critical thinking skills that kids use to create the flow of how the apps are actually smashed. Most educators would start to explain the concept of APP Smashing with your students by giving them an exact recipe of how you want it done the first time or two. However you need to make sure that as you do more projects and the kids know how to use different apps, they begin to have choices in creating their own recipes.
So what is an App Smashing Recipe?
Remember that most people organize their apps in three categories:
-Creation
-Editing
-Publishing/Presenting
Here are some other ways to help your students determine what apps to smash together:
App Smashing Dice- Students roll the dice to determine which apps they will use together. (Click on the images to take you to a printable version)
So now that you have seen several different ways for your students to think through the process of their app smashing project, how could you put this concept into action? Think about a lesson you could do with your entire class or even a specific differentiated group of students in your class. Create an App Smashing recipe that your students would would use to create a final publish project to show content mastery.
