Check out how to set things up here and be sure to highlight grades less than 75
Create your bulletin board *use information from your curriculum via google sites
*Note: Your course description appears at the top just below course title
Add your contact information (verify your preferred name w/ title & email address) >>>> additional info (such as mailing address) is private to students)
Add syllabus (suggestion: add a google doc link so changes take automatically)
>>>> be sure to add on the AI policy!
Add on course outcomes (this could be text box, link, or embed - your choice!)
Add on availability during flex and location
Create your first topics page --- resource: curriculum site
On the outside have: unit name & goals
On the side have: materials, resources, etc. CLEARLY labeled to someone who’s not taking the course (ex: parent or another teacher in Educational Support)
Consider: having another teacher import their topics page to you (*the copied from teacherX does NOT show to students) so you don’t reinvent the wheel
Browse your rosters & learning profiles
Identify which students have learning profiles and/or medical alerts
Create seating charts (these can be used for attendance later and are extremely helpful if you ever have to call out. And if you do, email Jude Szczerba and CC Marie Classen
Preview how to create assignments
Check out the UDL presentation by Educational Support Services - heavily reference assessment & assignment text suggestions
Assignment - a general reminder for students to complete (with or without online submission) *note: HW reminders should be posted daily
Discussion - can be published to a variety of classes to extend the conversation
Assessment - graded MC questions, T/F, essay, fill-in & matching (can be used for formative or summative assessments)
