A Message From Coach G: April 14, 2020 (Updated May 19) - What We Will Do For The Rest of The Year
Here is what to expect from today on, as we move forward. I'll do this in a list format so you can absorb the details one at a time.
1. Good morning. I hope you all are well. As you might imagine it is hard to stay as current with your grades as I would like, since I don't get to see you and remind you to turn things in, or to speak with each of you about what we're doing. I will be updating grades again by this Friday, May 22nd, to give you a better idea of where you stand. I have tried to make the work load as easy on you as I can.
2. As I told you in an earlier post your grades will come out fine, if you do the things I have been asking. It will not be the same story for those who ignore our assignments and fail to turn in anything.
3. I will be making FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH the FINAL DAY to submit any work that has been assigned since MARCH 13TH. I will close my gradebook and begin final grading, after midnight on that date.
4. ALL of this year's remaining work will continue to be posted ONLY on our Google Classroom, with appropriate due dates.
5. Continue to send me any notes (screenshot or any other viewable method) by email at ggallion@salem.k12.va.us. I am keeping a folder for all of these to be stored, so you will be sure to get credit. ALL VIDEO NOTES WILL COUNT AS EXTRA CREDIT, when I do my final grading.
6. I am more amazed each new day, at the ways in which each of you has dealt with this incredible situation in which we find ourselves. I look forward to seeing each of you in the fall, after this life-changing set of events is in the rear-view mirror. Keep being the great people that you are! Coach G
Final Reminder: All work is due, by 11:59PM, tomorrow night - Midnight, Friday, June 5.
There is nothing new to do. Make sure you have done all of the work I have assigned on Google Classroom, since we came home on March 13th. As I have stated previously, make a good-faith effort to work with me, and I will do my best to see that your grades are solid.
To be clear - grades will be cut off at Midnight, tomorrow night.
The first thing Saturday morning, June 6th, I will begin to make sense out of all work that was turned in. My plan is to have final grades for the 4th grading period and for the year, by lunchtime, Wednesday, June 10th.
I will make an announcement on this page, as soon as grading is done, to let you know.
