Counselors' Role

The school counselors at Lake View High School are an integral part of the leadership team on our campus and work with the school faculty, students, parents, and community to deliver services through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program aligned to the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs.

Leadership and Advocacy

The counselors are part of the campus leadership team, communication committee, and advisory council. The leadership team meets once a week to assess campuswide needs and evaluate campuswide events. Through these meetings we can advocate for school counseling programs we are currently implementing. The communication committee also meets once a week to disseminate campus information. During these meetings, we discuss the progress of programs we are implementing and how they impact students across campus. This allows advocacy of programs aligned to the school counselor role and the development of all four components of the comprehensive school counseling program.
