This is one of my favorite things we have done so far. I spent a lot of time looking at the archives, specifically the WWII archives, and have learned a lot. When looking at the website overall, there is a distinct lack of women. And, while this makes some sense because men primarily fought in the wars, it is vital to include the work the women did. This picture that I found was titled "Secretaries, housewives, waitresses, women from all over central Florida are getting into vocational schools to learn war work." This picture, in general, shows women learning how to provide for their families and for the war effort. But on a deeper note, it shows the important role that women played in society, with their intense efforts that are not often talked about in modern culture.Â
