This event was to encourage dialogue about what it was like being a woman in the 21st century. We split up in two groups, one group spoke about the workplace and another talked about healthcare access for women. I stayed in the group about healthcare access for women. We spoke about access to period products, the negative side effects of birth control, differences in being a mother and how to raise your children safely, women in the prison systems, and the difficulties with sexual harassment. There were a lot of good ideas and similarities to the problems we have with the systems. It was very interesting to learn about issues that I didn't even think about when it comes to being a woman and it was nice to hear how women in this college environment have dealt with their own struggles with the medical care system.Â
