Hey everyone! My name is Elizabeth Rogers, but everyone calls me Libby. This website is used for my HUST classes and includes all the assignments, journals, etc. that I have done for my major. It also has some information about me down below and pictures to introduce you to myself and my life.
I am an undergraduate at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame and am majoring in Humanistic Studies and Economics with minors in Gender and Women's Studies and Mathematics. I will attend Notre Dame for a Master's in Management in 2025.
At home, which is about an hour south of South Bend, I have two brothers, Jackson and Logan, and a dog, Charlie. My parents are amazing as well! I love to read, mainly romance or fantasy, and write just about anything. I like to participate in tennis, golf, skiing, and yoga. I also am a 500 Festival Princess for 2025!
I participate in Yoga club, am the Treasurer of the Econ club, and am the Finance Board Member for the Off the Avenue Café at Saint Mary's.
Some fun facts about me are that I was voted the mom friend as my senior superlative (which is still relevant today), I have an addiction to Diet Coke, and am an avid lover of Adam Sandler.
A funky fresh man, named after our favorite Avatar character.

I first landed on HUST after taking Professor Williamson's class "Humanities at Work" which explored literature, data, and writing which are all things I am highly interested it. She introduced me into the world of HUST as an undecided freshman. I quickly changed my major to HUST!
However, after taking two classes in the Economics department for my exploration into the business world, I realized how much I admire econ and the similarities it has to the way I think about personal and world choices.
How I tend to explain why these two together is how both relate to culture and people's choices. Economics is the study of people's choices due to scarcity and cultural expectations. HUST is the study of how people's literature, history, religion, language, economy, and geography relate to culture and the progression of humanity. I particularly love to understand why people in the past responded to the world around them in an economic perspective while taking an interdisiplanary approach with HUST.
On a whim, I decided to take Professor Choi's "Intro to Gender and Women's Studies" class my freshman year and felt that it allowed me to explore my feminist lens with a largely intersectional approach. When studying HUST, we love to look at women's perspectives in history, as they tended to be overlooked and GWS helped grow that side of my historical knowledge. GWS helps me understand the importance of women on the economy, specifically in advertising, the gender pay gap, and their impact on consumption.
I recently just added a MATH minor, only because my math professor suggested that I go ahead and add it because I have more than the required credits to graduate without taking any extra classes. However, as I am pursing a Management master's at ND, the math classes will come in handy there and in my economics classes.
