Moreau Art Galleries presents
The Specialness of Springs - Work by Kay Westhues
August 18th - September 10th, 2021
As a photographer and artist, Kay Westhues is concerned with the ways in which rural tradition and history are interpreted and transformed in the present day. Her goal as an artist is to create projects that provoke critical thinking and reflection about the patterns and precedents of contemporary culture. Although her photographic and video work can be described as documentary, Westhues’ approach is that of a participant observer. Her current project; The Specialness of Springs examines roadside springs in and near her home state of Indiana.
The Gallery Reception for this show will be held on Thursday, September 2nd from 5-7 pm in the Moreau Galleries, located in The Moreau Center for the Arts.
This event is Free and Open to the public. PLEASE NOTE: Per the College’s COVID policy, masks are required for all indoor campus events. For more information, please visit the Saint Mary’s College Events page or contact the Department of Art at Saint Mary's College at 574-284-4631.
